The ALTRA road shoe with the thinnest 22mm cushion offers a lightweight design that allows you to feel the sensations from the soles of your feet and the ground contact. It continues to feature a knit upper material that provides a comfortable fit, wrapping around your foot. This material is also breathable, making it suitable for summer running. Even on rainy days, it dries by the next day when air-dried in the shade, making it the go-to model when you must run in wet conditions.
Modern running shoes often have structures that overly protect the foot, hindering the natural movement of tendons, muscles, and joints. This model is perfect for those who want to achieve barefoot-like movement and activate the natural motion of their feet.

The Escalante Racer, a unique model embodying ALTRA's essence since its debut in 2018, has continued to be sold without significant changes. After seven years, the major renewal focuses on three main points: "grip," "shape (last)," and "stability."
Let's go through these three changes:
Grip: The previous outsole design, shaped like toes, offered good ground contact but slightly lacked durability and grip. The new model adopts a sole pattern known for durability and grip, familiar from the Escalante 3 and Torin 7. To maintain the characteristic lightweight of this model, unnecessary rubber parts in the midfoot have been eliminated.
Shape (Last): The shape has changed from "STANDARD" to the more spacious "Original." Originally featuring a classic design, it offered a more relaxed fit than other models, with slightly more room in the heel and instep areas.
Stability: To enhance stability, the forefoot has been changed to a keel-like shape, minimizing side-to-side wobble upon landing. While this change may not be visually apparent, the stability felt when wearing the shoe is greater than in the previous model.
